Did you know that 9 out of 10 couples were not happy with their wedding photos? Hi! My name is Steve Rouch. I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I know this is a shocking statistic! You can't believe the brides and grooms that come up to me at the weddings I shoot with sad tales about their wedding photographer! There is nothing sadder than the look on their faces!

The sad truth is that everyone and their uncle have gotten into wedding photography today with their new digital cameras! Wouldn't it be nice if all you had to do is buy a fork and suddenly the fork would make you a world class chef! That is the problem facing today's bridal couples and portrait consumers. It is easy to confuse a technological invention with artistry! The camera will NOT make you a photographer!

It takes years to learn how to light and pose and capture natural photojournalistic expressions. The confusing thing about digital is that if the photographer takes 2,000 pictures at each wedding and 4 turn out to be fantastic….they can still come up with impressive web sites and portfolios. What you don't see is all the out takes and bad photos the couple is saddled with.

There are 3 important things to look at when you hire a photographer:

1. The quality of the images combined with the percentage of images that are perfect. A Master photographer will give you a perfect image with every shot!

2. The personality of the photographer. A charming person during your interview may not handle stress well on your wedding day….ask for references about your photographer's reputation!

3. How stable is the business? We get calls from hysterical brides who “had their photographer back out or disappear just before their wedding.” We have done 2,000+ weddings and have an iron clad reputation. We are very reliable!
